Earth Day

Earth Day began in 1970 and continues to be celebrated on April 22 to remind us to take care of our environment. Young children can celebrate spring and begin to learn about our earth through stories like these.

Five nasty germs going out to play
Along came the water and washed one away!

Four nasty germs trying to have some fun
Along came the soap and one had to run!

Three nasty germs trying to make you sick
Along came the scrubbing and said
"You're not going to stick!"

Two nasty germs got into a fight
Along came the rinse and washed one out of sight!

One nasty germ thought it couldn't be seen
Along came the towel and your hand is nice and clean!
Use finger puppets for the five germs and throw them off your fingers one by one!

Storytimes at your Library

Many storytimes require registration and fill up early. Registration is available online, by phone and in person. Registration for summer storytimes begins May 22.

Baby Storytime - for children birth to 24 months.
Delight and stimulate your baby's senses with books and music.
Toddler Storytime - for children ages 2 and 3.
Nurture a love of books. Learn letters, sounds, and new words.
Preschool Storytime - for children ages 4 to 6.
Enjoy stories together and build language skills.

Share books, stories, rhymes, music, and movement with your children.
World Language Storytime - for children 2 years old and up.
Experience the world in other languages.
