Updated Birth to Six
We've updated Birth to Six to make it easier to discover how to Talk, Sing, Read, Write and Play Together with children to help them get ready to read. We've also added a new Tech Together page that offers resources for adults about technology and digital media for young children, and redesigned our Stories and Games page. Of course you will still find all our great book lists and information on Storytimes. Please explore our new site and let us know if you have any comments and feedback.

Star Books Shine
Our very popular ELSIE book list has gotten a makeover along with a new name: Star Books. Share these shining examples of children's literature with the kids in your care. Read them aloud and talk about them. Our expert librarians highlight a picture book each week with tips for sharing. Browse their recommendations, or search by keyword for books on a specific topic.

Twinkling Stars

At night I see the twinkling stars
(hold up hands and wiggle fingers)
And a great big smiling moon.
(circle arms overhead)
My Mommy tucks me into bed,
(Lay pointer of one hand across the palm of the other hand)
And sings a good night tune.
(rock hands gently).

Cover Art: Stars! Stars! Stars!

Four Little Stars

Four little stars winking at me.
(Hold up and wiggle four fingers)
One shot off,
(Zip one finger away)
Then there were three.
(Hold up and wiggle three fingers)
(repeat actions as indicated)
Three little stars with nothing to do,
One shot off,
Then there were two.
Two little stars afraid of the sun.
One shot off,
Then there was one!
One little star alone is no fun,
It shot off, then there was none.
(Make a zero with fingers.)
