Girls with Balloons

by Thomas Montemurro, 1971

About the art

This sculpture summons the summertime feel of children on parade, carefree and off on an adventure. Three kids march spiritedly forward, with the two girls in the rear holding tightly to their balloons. Children at play appear in many of Wisconsin artist Tom Montemurro’s sculptures, along with more industrial themes such as cars and machinery.
