On Monday, May 29 (Memorial Day), Hennepin County libraries are closed.
The schematic design process for the new Hennepin County Library - Brooklyn Park is underway. This is the first phase of the design process with construction estimated to begin in spring 2014 and a grand opening anticipated in mid-2015.
Using the Brooklyn Park Library’s Community Advisory Committee’s (CAC) vision from its last meeting as a guide, the project architects have developed some initial concepts for the exterior and diagrams to study how the interior spaces relate to one another. The project design team will meet with the CAC on Thursday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the current Brooklyn Park Library meeting room to talk about these concept ideas.
The Brooklyn Park Library closes at 6:00 p.m., but someone will be at the door to let meeting attendees in starting at 6:15 p.m.
Looking ahead, there will be another meeting scheduled on April 11 at the same time and location.
