Hennepin County Library – Rogers, 21300 John Milless Dr., reopens on Thursday, June 16 at noon, after an eight-week, $350,000 renovation.
Improvements include a slightly expanded children’s area, a modified service desk, all new furniture and more accessible power outlets for patrons. The library’s interior was repainted and refreshed, and parts of the staff workroom were reconstructed.
Patrons who chose an alternate pickup location for their item requests during the library closure will see their pickup location change back to Rogers Library automatically.
Library hours remain the same: noon-8 p.m. Monday and Thursday; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; closed Sunday.
“This renovation is an important investment in Rogers Library,” said District 7 Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson. “It’s one way we’re making sure the library will continue to serve the community and its residents well into the future.”
Join Commissioner Johnson and Hennepin County Library Director Lois Langer Thompson at Rogers Library on Saturday, June 18 for reopening events.
All are welcome.
Remarks at 10:30 a.m. will be followed by guitar music from Pavel Jany 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and a Brodini Comedy Magic Show at 2 p.m., both sponsored by the Friends of the Rogers Library.
