Hennepin County Library – Rogers, 21300 John Milless Dr., will close for renovation on Saturday, April 23 at 5 p.m. The library is scheduled to re-open on Thursday, June 16 at noon.
Improvements will include a slightly expanded children's area, a modified service desk, all new furniture and more accessible power outlets for patrons. The library's interior will be repainted and refreshed, and parts of the staff workroom will be reconstructed.
The renovation budget is $350,000.
"Making these important improvements to the Rogers Library ensures the building is suitably maintained and makes it more user-friendly," said District 7 Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson. "It is part of a broad effort by the County to regularly address changing neighborhood needs and balance our investments with cost efficiencies in all of our 41 libraries. Like you, I want our libraries to remain welcoming, safe places that serve our communities well."
