Public meetings were held in the Cedar-Riverside, Como, Marcy-Holmes and Prospect Park neighborhoods during October to discuss the library, learning and information needs of the community. The meetings were part of community engagement and design research efforts sponsored by Hennepin County Library in collaboration with University of Minnesota consultants.
Using a variety of design tools, meeting participants explored what they would like to see in a library of the future. Dr. Jerry Stein, founder and director of Learning Dreams, introduced ideas for library services in his presentation, Libraries and Innovation: 21st century themes.
