On Monday, May 29 (Memorial Day), Hennepin County libraries are closed.
On June 15, 2011 the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board approved two resolutions that relate to the new Walker Library project:
Park Board staff will coordinate three meetings between July and September to engage the community in the design development process. The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Walker Library meeting room. The Park Board will organize the event's publicity. All Walker Library Community Advisory Committee (CAC) members are encouraged to attend.
On Tuesday, June 21st, the Hennepin County Libraries, Technology and General Government Committee unanimously approved a contract with Vincent James Associates Architects to begin architectural/engineering schematic design services for the new Walker Library project. The contract comes to the full Board for approval on June 28th.
The next Walker Library CAC meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 26 at 6:30 to review design concepts developed by VJAA. A second meeting will be scheduled in September.
