Guys Read, a literacy initiative founded by children's author Jon Scieszka, is designed to draw attention to boys' literacy and to motivate adults to help boys read more. Scieska is the nation's first children's laureate, officially called the National Ambassador for Young People's Literature.

This summer, Hennepin County Library is offering more than 40 Guys Read Book Clubs, which connect boys with books they like to read in a fun, guys-only environment.

Hennepin County Library's Guys Read Program is made possible by the Library Foundation of Hennepin County with financial support from Best Buy Children’s Foundation, Highland Bank, and the Jack and Ann Cole Children's Fund of the Library Foundation.
