EDEN PRAIRIE EAGLE SCOUT CANDIDATE HAS LEADERSHIP ROLE IN 'MAKEOVER' OF LIBRARY'S TEEN AREA
PUBLIC INVITED TO SEE THE 'NEW' TEEN AREA AT OPEN HOUSE ON OCT. 26
Eden Prairie High School sophomore Zachary Baker, who played a leadership role in the recent transformation of the Teen Area at the Eden Prairie Library to earn Eagle Scout rank, will co-host an open house of the Teen Area along with staff and the Friends of the Eden Prairie Library 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26.

ETHIOPIAN CHILDREN'S LITERACY ADVOCATE, FOUNDER OF 'ETHIOPIA READS' TO SPEAK AT MINNEAPOLIS CENTRAL LIBRARY
Yohannes Gebregeorgis, a native of Ethiopia and a children’s literacy advocate, will share his personal journey about his work setting up libraries and promoting reading in Ethiopia at a free program 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22 in Pohlad Hall at Minneapolis Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall.

NEW PLYMOUTH LIBRARY GROUNDBREAKING WILL BE MONDAY, OCT. 13
The public is invited to a groundbreaking for the new Plymouth Library on Monday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. The new library is being constructed on the site of the old library, 15700 36th Ave. N. Opening is scheduled in 2010.

'POSTSECRET' NATIONAL TRAVELING EXHIBIT OPENS OCT. 4 AT MINNEAPOLIS CENTRAL LIBRARY
Community Art Project Grew Into an International Phenomenon With an Award-Winning Blog and Three New York Times Bestsellers
PostSecret, a community art project and national traveling exhibition of 400 postcards illustrating the poignant secrets we never tell, will open Saturday, Oct. 4 at Cargill Hall at Minneapolis Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall. The PostSecret exhibition tour is organized by International Arts & Artists, Washington, D.C. and will be on view Oct. 4 through Nov. 30 during library hours, Tuesday/Thursday 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Wednesday/Friday/Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday noon-5 p.m.
