.What choice would you make? Would you be looking forward to getting the surgery and becoming "pretty" like Tally or would you try to run away like Shay?
.In Tally's world, being "pretty" means a certain physical look, a blurring of differences, a "happy" mental state, no diseases or discomforts, etc. What does the word "pretty" mean to you? What does the concept of "pretty" mean in our society?
.The creators of "Pretty Town" wanted to do something positive and create a world free of suffering, conflict and pain. Do you think it would be possible to create a world where people did not suffer diseases and war, or discriminate against others because of their looks but still have freedom of choice? What would this world be like?
.Do you think there are any similarities between Dr. Cable and the "Specials" and elements of our government or other governments in the world? What responsibilities do you think governments have in controlling people's behavior? When do they go too far?
.It seems like the "Rusties" made a lot of mistakes that had tragic consequences for their civilization. Do you think that this new civilization is making mistakes that will lead to its eventual collapse?
.Did Tally purposefully tried to take David away from Shay? If you were Tally, how would you have handled that situation?
.Tally had lots of cool technology! What were your favorite things and why? What would you invent?
