.What did you think? Have you read other Neil Gaiman books? If so, what kinds of elements can you usually expect from his books?
.Gaiman hints at a lot of details without ever actually spelling them out for the reader. Where does the book take place? When does the book take place? What are some clues as to where/when it takes place?
.What kinds of creatures appear in the book? Ms. Lupescu? Eliza Hempstock? Silas? What clues are there as to what Silas is? (no reflection, can only go out at night, pale, not living but not dead, can bend thoughts...I think he's a vampire)
.What is "the freedom of the graveyard"? What powers does it give Bod?
.Do you think Neil Gaiman is trying to make a point with the book? If so, what point do you think he's trying to make?
.Silas tells Bod that "alive one has potential," that there are things he can do living that can't be done by the dead, what does he mean? What abilities do the living have that the dead don't?
.What is Scarlet's reaction to the way Bod deals with the Man Jacks? How do you feel about her reaction? Do you think Bod did what was necessary?
