by Leroux, Gaston, 1868-1927 Drama! Drama! Drama! Definately the word I would use to describe this book. Well written, dark, full of romance, but also some horror. An essential classic; a must read. posted Apr 5, 2008 at 7:53PM

by Sachar, Louis, 1954- Fun, interesting, a great plot, and a fairy-tale feel make this book a wonderful read! I have read it so many times! posted Apr 5, 2008 at 7:31PM

by Shakespeare, William, 1564-1616 How can you have a list of great books without at least one by Shakespeare? This is my favorite of Shakespeare's works. posted Apr 5, 2008 at 7:30PM

by Bunn, T. Davis, 1952- Sort of a story within a story. A teen girl with a serious disease goes to stay with her grandma while her family is on vacation. The girl had been tormenting her heartbroken family throughout her illness, because of bitterness, but Gran tells her a story. Gran's story is her own and takes place during WWII. posted Apr 5, 2008 at 7:29PM

by Barrie, J. M. 1860-1937 Not at all like its Disney cartoon counterpart in some ways, but definately a great book!! Action, adventure, fantasy, etc. posted Apr 5, 2008 at 7:21PM

by Hugo, Victor, 1802-1885 Amazingly intricate and deep, this story follows multiple characters. I've read it three times, but I learn several knew things every time I read it. This book has romance, action, history, and...well, let me abridge or this review will have chapters:This novel is breathtakingly complex, but I love it! Oh, and beware! It is very long! posted Apr 5, 2008 at 7:19PM

by DiCamillo, Kate A new fairy tale! I love this little book! Sweet, facinating, innocent, fun... I love it! I love it! posted Apr 5, 2008 at 7:18PM

by Meyer, Stephenie, 1973- Action and romance, what a combo! An easy read and a good book; part of a series. posted Apr 5, 2008 at 7:13PM

by Twain, Mark, 1835-1910 Light and fun, but full of adventure and mystery, this book is an essential classic! Mark Twain is a very distinct author with a voice different from other classics I've read. posted Apr 5, 2008 at 7:12PM

by Austen, Jane, 1775-1817 This book is a splendid little romance that leaves you feeling good. A classic. That's really all I have to say about it. posted Apr 5, 2008 at 7:02PM

by Bronte, Charlotte, 1816-1855 Villette could be studied to understand exactly what kind of toll total isolation takes on a person. The heroine, Lucy Snowe, is very similar to Jane Eyre. posted Apr 5, 2008 at 6:46PM

by Bronte, Charlotte, 1816-1855 This one almost ties with Wuthering Heights for me. In fact, sometimes I think it surpasses it, but then I read Wuthering Heights again and change my mind. Jane Eyre is a wonderfully written book. It follows the title character, an orphan disliked by almost everyone, as she tries to find someone who sees the real her and can still love her. posted Apr 5, 2008 at 6:40PM

by Bronte, Emily, 1818-1848 One of my very favorite books (if not my all-time fave). Wuthering Heights is a deep, dark story about love, passion, hatred, vengance, and the effect our lives have on others. An essential classic. posted Apr 5, 2008 at 6:34PM
