Cover ArtAnna Karenina
by Tolstoy, Leo, graf, 1828-1910.
This was a facinating book, well written and well worth your time as it entices you to really think. Anna Karenina invites you to be an observer, passing no judgement on the characters, only to tell you of their actions and the consequences of those actions.   posted Jun 27, 2011 at 12:55PM

Cover ArtAround the world in 80 days
by Verne, Jules, 1828-1905.
Sure to make you laugh, this is a great read for everyone. (If you have seen the movie, be warned that they are NOTHING alike)   posted Apr 2, 2010 at 5:11PM

Cover ArtA tale of two cities
by Dickens, Charles, 1812-1870.
One of Dickens best works, this novel takes place during the French Revolutionary war. It mainly centers around a husband and wife's fight to be free of the French tyranny.   posted Apr 2, 2010 at 5:09PM

Cover ArtThe lion, the witch, and the wardrobe
by Lewis, C. S. 1898-1963.
A series that has also been made into film, this is an enthralling adventure of four siblings into a unknown land. It's a great book for all age groups. And unlike some other classics, its very easy to read! ;)   posted Apr 2, 2010 at 5:06PM

Cover ArtTo kill a mockingbird
by Lee, Harper.
Without a doubt my all time favorite book of all time.   posted Mar 27, 2010 at 9:46AM

Cover ArtPride and Prejudice (Large Print)
by Austen, Jane, 1775-1817.
A great book showing the ridiculous, humorous, and sad events in the life of two sisters, Lizzy and Jane. (although it mainly focuses of Lizzy) A must read for everyone.   posted Mar 27, 2010 at 9:43AM

Cover ArtRedwall
by Jacques, Brian.
I was taught to read with these books. They may sound kiddish to some, but hey I love them! The also come in audio, which are really great to listen to if your stuck cleaning you room under the threat of not being allowed to see that movie tonight ;)!!   posted Mar 27, 2010 at 9:34AM

Cover ArtThe fellowship of the ring
by Tolkien, J. R. R. 1892-1973.
Another series that you have heard of before. A major hit as a movie, it also makes a really good read. Word to the wise: There is a LOT of very detailed description of the scenery. And while to some that helps them create the image of where the characters are, to others it drags. So, some of that you can kind of skim over. Just don’t skip anything vital!!   posted Mar 27, 2010 at 9:30AM

Cover ArtThe last battle
by Lewis, C. S. 1898-1963.
You have most likely heard of this series (the Chronicles of Nania) many times before. I have read it years ago, but never actually finished the last one. I was TOTALLY blown away by what happened in the ending! Never saw that coming ;) Wanna know what I’m talking about? Read it and find out for yourselve!   posted Mar 27, 2010 at 9:19AM

Cover ArtTo kill a mockingbird
by Lee, Harper.
I think this is really my favorite book :) Incredibly well written, showing the racism and bigamy in a small southern town from the point of few of a young girl. Also a fascinating subplot with the mysterious neighbor, Boo Radley. Will surely keep your intention. Warning: some strong racial language, I would not recommend for children.   posted Mar 5, 2010 at 9:47AM
