Cover ArtMemoirs of a teenage amnesiac
by Zevin, Gabrielle.
A great book told from a girl who hit her head and can't remember anything. She tries to piece her life back together. Overall, this books is a good read about figuring out who you are and everyone around you.   posted Apr 18, 2010 at 10:16AM

Cover ArtConversations with God : an uncommon dialogue
by Walsch, Neale Donald.
This book will probably make you think more than any other book on this list. It's about a guy who talks to God, and writes down their conversations. It's funny, true, and inspiring.   posted Apr 18, 2010 at 10:14AM

Cover ArtThe last song
by Sparks, Nicholas.
This is my favorite Nicholas Sparks novel. It's about a rebellious girl who's sent to live with her father for the summer. Like all of his novels, The Last Song deals with love, break-up, friendship, parents, death, and much more. A truly interesting and fun, yet sad read.   posted Apr 18, 2010 at 10:13AM

Cover ArtThe lovely bones
by Sebold, Alice.
A book told through the voice of a dead girl. The book is the suspenseful story of figuring out who murdered the protagonist. This book isn't really a thriller, but it is gripping and sad.   posted Apr 18, 2010 at 10:12AM

Cover ArtMy sister's keeper : a novel
by Picoult, Jodi, 1966-
Though many people have probably read this book, it is always one of my favorites. The plot is about a sister who was created to donate organs to her sick sister. The plot is very intense, and will have you crying by the end.   posted Apr 18, 2010 at 10:09AM

Cover ArtKira-Kira
by Kadohata, Cynthia.
An inspiring novel about growing up, sisters, and fitting in. This book is about a Japanese, working-class family through the struggles of making a living and raising two daughters.   posted Apr 18, 2010 at 10:08AM

Cover ArtThe outsiders
by Hinton, S. E.
Maybe you read this in school (I did!), but this book is a great book about fitting in. It talks about the different sides of the city and involves fighting, stealing, drinking, and drugs. Overall, this book is a really good classic read - I really enjoyed it in class. Check out the movie afterward, too!   posted Apr 18, 2010 at 10:02AM

Cover ArtMarley & me : life and love with the world's worst dog
by Grogan, John, 1957-
Book to film - but book is better! This book is a tear-jerker, but tells the favorite story about a truly loved dog.   posted Apr 18, 2010 at 10:00AM

Cover ArtIn a heartbeat
by Ellsworth, Loretta.
A book about a girl who had a heart transplant and can hear the thoughts of the girl who gave her the heart. She starts taking on some of her heart donor's characteristics. A fascinating read; also, check out Ellsworth's other book: In Search of Mockingbird   posted Apr 18, 2010 at 9:59AM

Cover ArtLock and key : a novel
by Dessen, Sarah.
Told in Sarah Dessen's classic style about a girl who had a hard time growing up. Her mom wasn't around much and her sister left. This book is written really well.   posted Apr 18, 2010 at 9:57AM
