by Liu, Marjorie M. Maxine Kiss demon hunter is a fresh addition to the kick-butt group of ladies who hunt the dark. By day covered by tatoos by night having her own motley crew she spends her time fighting the good fight against a foe she was born to fight. Her feelings of loneliness and estrangement from the rest of humanity is very poignant. As she finds small bits of happiness as she battles ever onward the reader becomes very attached to her character of the tough on the outside, vulnerable on the inside warrior. The paranormal events are creative and absorbing. Her relationships with her cohorts and a man who loves her add even more interest to the story. A very creative and well-written start to a new series. posted Feb 27, 2011 at 9:01PM

by Andrews, Ilona. This is part of an excellent series by Ilona Andrews. In a sea of paranormal novels this one stands out for creativity of character, pace and plotting. The tension between the main character and the Beast Lord is well done. I’d give this series a five, on a scale of 1-5. posted Feb 27, 2011 at 8:17PM
