Jane Jeong Trenka was adopted from Korea as a young child and raised in small-town Minnesota. She tried to be the ideal daughter, and tried not to question why her Korean family had given her up for adoption. An experience with a stalker in college leads her to examine her life as an Asian-American woman, and eventually to a search for her birth mother. Trenka's story touches on the meaning of family, our understanding of race and culture, and the bonds that hold people together.
