Valarie is a fairly normal teen living in the suburbs having a normal life, until she discovers that her boyfriend is actually in love with her mom. She runs away to NYC and lives with a group of homeless teens who make deliveries of a sunstance they call Nevermore, for a troll. Only some of the recepiants of the deliveries are dying and the troll is suspected. This is set in the same world as Tithe, but the characters from that book only show up briefly.

Dark and twisted, but lovely and beautiful. A tale of a human girl who gets involved with the land of faerie, and end up falling in love. Brilliant work by Holly Black. I recommend this to everyone who likes dark, real, faerie stories (above the age of twelve).
