This is the sixth book in the “Shadow Children” sequence. In this series, the government does not allow more than 2 children. The Population Police take away any illegal third children. Matthias is an illegal third child. His two best friends are Percy and Alia. After surviving a truck crash the three escape from the Population Police, into the woods. They find a cabin but both Percy and Alia are seriously hurt, Percy’s been shot in the leg and Alia got injured in the accident. When Matthias accidentally joins all the illegal children’s enemy, the Population Police, he finds out that the commander is planning to kill all the third children and keep away food from the poor and the starving. He also meets Nina, and old friend, and others. Together, they plan to stop the commander and foil his plan.
