Fantasy, historical fiction, and Arthurian legend are all interwoven in this exceptional book. David Clement-Davies is truly a master storyteller - the prose is richly descriptive, the setting (England during Richard the Lionheart's Crusades) is beautiful, and the characters - even the villains - have a fully-realized depth. An excellent read.
