Very gruesome story about the battle between good and evil within the human heart. I wouldn’t recommend the book because it was too graphic for me to really enjoy. Although the story was rather unique, the characters were too flat, either strictly good or strictly bad. Those tempted by evil either gave in completely or resisted completely, there was no in between. This author writes some interesting stories, but something about them usually leaves me disappointed.

I loved it. Couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait to read the other 2 novels. However, I am a person that loves a good thriller that has a fantasy element to it and I’ll always enjoy epic battles of good versus evil. It is pretty graphic however, I wouldn’t recommend it for the squeamish.
