This was an exciting book! Lady Jane Grey’s family did not care for her, they used her to elevate themselves. When young King Edward died, Jane’s father declared her Queen. She was Queen for a total of nine days before Edward’s half sister, Mary, gathered an army and imprisoned and later beheaded poor Jane. Even though she was pushed around by her family and used to further their ambitions, Jane was strong through it all and did not declare her husband King, which foiled their plans. I love books during this time period, and Rinaldi did such a good job at telling Jane’s story.
