Beautifully written, The Girls is a very unique novel. Told mostly from the point of view of Rose, the novel is Rose’s autobiography of her life as a conjoined twin. Ruby, her twin, contributes some of her thoughts although she does not consider herself a writer. I found this book very fascinating; it’s a hard one to put down.

I could not put this book down at times i had to remind my self that it was a true story as some of the context just seemed so far fetched, i also had to keep reminding my self that they were conjoined twins. this book is a very powerful read it makes you sit back and realise that the petty day to day stuff that gets you down is trivial compared to the day to day lives the girls have to live and did so with less complaints, always believing they were blessed and i really feel there are not many people know that closeness with another person but they did and now we understand why they were so special not because of there conjoinment but because they believed in each other no matter what
