I’m not normally interested in thriller type novels, but Greg Iles develops his characters so well that his books are much more. I liked these people and cared about what happened to them. The plot revolves around a crooked lawyer/doctor team who relieve divorcing people of their spouses by infecting the spouses with cancer. Sounds far-fetched but the author makes it all seem possible. I read this rather thick book in three days; couldn’t wait to get to the end to see how it played out. I enjoyed references to characters in Iles’ previous work, Turning Angel (which I also recommend) and his description of Natchez. This was a fun read.
