WOW! What a great story. Mr. Card has written his best fiction yet. The scary thing is it could be future fact. I enjoyed his Afterward more than the story itself. This is a Must Read for anyone interested in political things, a real eye-opener. I hated putting it down to do anything else and I hate to turn it back in. I want to make it a tool for real change in a nation gone crazy, and closer to the war in its pages than most realize.

I believe Orson Scott Card to be a great writer. I have read and enjoyed many of his books, from Enders Game to Pastwatch. Empire starts out with an exciting sequence of events, like a Dan Brown book, but then seems to loose it’s momentum after the climactic turning point of the book. It appears as though OSC has tried a new genre, but in my opinion, he’s still developing this genre’s style for himself.
