This book was an incredibly insightful glimpse into the life of someone who struggles daily with FAS (Fetal Alchohol Syndome). It deals with touchy issues head-on, and in the process is a beautiful and moving story. Adam (the author's adopted son, a Native American boy whose mother drank heavily while she was pregnant) is neither very good-looking or nor does he have a hidden genius, but there is something in him that makes him humane and worthy of life and love. This book speaks about how to deal with FAS and also how we can prevent it.
