This is the first of three books about Elmer Elevator and a favorite of my children. It’s a great read aloud for 1st - 3rd graders and a good chapter books for kids moving out of the easy reader level with short eventful chapters, lots of excitement and fun pictures. Elmer finds himself on a mission to save a baby dragon who is held captive on an island full of talking animals. Elmer has to use all of his cunning to outwit the lions, monkeys, aligators and other animals, free the friendly dragon and escape the island. This series will keep you turning pages to find out what happens next.
