This book How to Steal a Dog takes place in present day North Carolina. The main character in this story is Georgia Hayes. Georgia’s father abandoned her family. Georgia, her brother Toby, and her mom were forced to live in their own car. Georgia was determined to change their situation. She came up with a plan to steal a dog for reward money. Shortly after Georgia stole the dog, she became quite fond of it. Will Georgia accept the $500 reward or will she turn it down? Read the book to find out. I felt that the following quotation was important, “half of me was thinking, Georgia don’t do this. Stealing a dog is just wrong. The other half of me was thinking, Georgia you are in a bad fix and you got to do whatever it takes to get yourself out of it.” I really liked this book How to Steal a Dog. This book showed a lot of emotions. It was funny and sad at the same time. I have not read any books like this one. I would recommend this book to readers who like to laugh and cry with the characters in the story.
