Having grown up in southwestern Minnesota, the setting of this story, I really enjoyed this book. The characers seemed like real rural characters without going overboard with the stereotypes. The Jerusalem artichoke scam was a huge heartbreak when it brought down farmers and so it was interesting to see that played into the plot. It was fun to read from that perspective. The storyline may not have been one of the best, but it was still worth reading. I would recommend it.
