An elegant, mostly well-told story. Howie Traveler and Jay Alcazar are very well-written, fleshed out characters. The biggest problem is the ending, which feels rushed. It’s hard to discuss without giving it away, but it seemed to me that there were 3 possible endings, and DeFord tried to cram all three of them into the book. That said, it was a pleasure to read. A better beach book.
