A practicing psychoanalyst, Amy Bloom lives in Connecticut. (Publisher Provided) Amy Bloom ws born in 1953. She is a trained social worker and psychotherapist. She is the Kim-Frank Family University Writer in Residence at Wesleyan University. She has also taught Advanced Fiction Writing, Writing for Television, and Writing for Children at Yale University. She has been nominated for the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award. Bloom has also written articles in periodicals including The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, The Atlantic Monthly, Vogue, Slate, and Her short fiction has appeared in The Best American Short Stories and The O. Henry Prize Stories. In August 2012, Bloom published her first children's book entitled Little Sweet Potato. In 2014 her title Lucky Us made The New York Times Best Seller List.
