My first Salman Rushdie novel - a book for guys , in spite of it's name . Compelling , but violent :somewhat historical , but bawdy ;irreverent and long on elaborate vocabulary

This, too, was my first Rushdie book. It’s a good thing he is such a good writer because he certainly loves the sound of his own voice! Even though he could have used a good editor, the story is "enchanting" and has lots of gorgeous imagery, fantastically based history and a great sense of humor to boot. I have given an MIA tour of this book so full of color and glitter and mystery. Will you find your "Lady Dark Eyes" in the galleries?
