By the end I felt like I was a member of Isabel Allende’s family! I enjoyed it even more than her novels. It is all at once laugh out loud funny, silently heartbreaking and remarkably honest.

Isabel Allende is a wonderful author that brings her rich cultural origin to her writing. This is a beautiful story, told with plenty of humor, of her family's struggles and how they overcame daunting challenges. Great book, great author.
