I disagree with nitetrain. I have liked this whole series and feel sad that it is over with Westlake’s death last year. It is true that nothing particularly exciting happens in the story, but that is part of the charm. It is about the characters and how Westlakes invests them with so much personality even though they hardly do or say anything.
