This book by Arkady Fiedler is the story of one of the two Polish squadrons of the RAF that were made operational during the Battle of Britain in 1940. It is interesting reading. It was published during the war in 1943. The book relates history and is history itself. It has a propaganda flavor to it at times and needs to be understood as a war time book with a purpose to boost "morale". It is a bit too "rah, rah" for the good guys at times. Nonetheless, it is a fun read and helps depict the attitudes of the time.
