This is a really touching story. Any woman will identify themes in this mother-daughter relationship that are common experience, even without the hoarding. The reader will loose patience with the mother in this book long before the writer does. But, that is what is so revealing about how as daughters of dysfunctional mothers, we never give up hope. I read it in just over 24 hours, neglecting my own daughter while I did. :)
