This is a book about the ’everyman’ in all of us. Your heart goes out to the strivers, characters so real you think you’ve met them somewhere. Harbach’s is a remarkable first effort; its Door County ’almost’ Wisconsin setting is a familiar one for many of us.

I really enjoyed "The Art of Fielding". I’m sure it will turn out to be one of the best books I read this year(2012). The characters are vividly drawn and the story lines are woven together flawlessly. You don’t have to be a baseball fan to love this book, but if if you are, your enjoyment will be even better. There is wisdom here!
