The four small bears from Bears on Chairs demonstrate their distinctive personalities as they climb into bed: "Fuzzy whirls in/ like a circus bear./ She swirls into bed/ with a twirly flair!" But when they hear a sound in the night, all four bears wake up and hop into Big Brown Bear's bed. Walker's smudgy acrylic bears pair well with Parenteau's use of repetition and phrases that rhyme with "bear," making for a soothing reading primer and cozy bedtime story. Ages 2-5. (Aug.)
