In this marvelous short story by the author of Straight Man, Nobody's fool and more, the protagonist struggles to come to terms with a cancer he has just been made aware of. He also tries to sell a house full of clutter that the owner does not want to clean up (he is a real estate agent), tries to accept a friend for what that friend is and finally discovers something about his father that he was not aware of. It is a wonderfully well written story by a grand master. My only problem with it is that it is so short (76 pages), as I was finishing it I was wishing for 300.
