Allan Folsom was born December 9, 1941, in Orlando, FL. He received a BS from Boston Universtiy in 1963. Folsom made history when his The Day after Tomorrow (1994) garnered the biggest offer ever for the rights to a first novel. The offer, made jointly by Little, Brown & Company and Warner Books, paid Folsom approximately two million dollars, with an additional $500,000 to be paid when sales of the book reached 400,000 copies. This intense and tightly plotted thriller was well received by both reviewers and readers. His second novel, Day of Confession (1998), concerns an attempt by the Catholic Church to create a Holy Roman Empire in China. His other works include The Exile, The Machiavelli Covenant, and The Hadrian Memorandum. Folsom had previously worked as a delivery driver, a film editor, and a camera operator. He has also written scripts for the television series Untamed World, Hart to Hart, and Sable, and he wrote the screenplay for the television film Desperate Intruder. (Bowker Author Biography)
