The book The Skin I'm In by Sharon G. Flake, is about a young girl by the name of Maleeka Madison who is struggling to find and accept herself for who she is. There are many obstacles along the way. In the end she learns that she does not need to be, or look the way others want her to. And that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It is a great book that I would reccommend you should read.

This book is about a girl named Maleeka who is terriorized cause of the color of her skin. In order to stop this she asks the baddest girl in school charlese if she can help her so she does. She is forced to do things she would have never did before. How can Maleeka overcome thsi girl Charlese and accept the skin she's in? An inspiring book about being true to yourself and doing things that are right

I though this book was great. It was just so down to Earth and I thought that it can relate to a lot of people especially people who get discriminated or made fun of because of there skin color.
