I would recommend any of Annie’s books. She is typically provocative, but in the end very interesting and even inspiring. Pilgrim at Tinker Creek is still one of my favorite books.

Annie Dillard is an important thinker of our time. Versed in both science and philosophy, she tackles the hard questions of good, evil and godhood. I am especially glad that she tells a bit about Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, whom I read about 50 years ago but never studied. Highly recommended.
