I have heard many versions of "Beauty and the Beast" but this is one of the tops. This is a great example of the Beast's side of the story, what he was and how he came to be.

Beast is like the movie Beuty and the Beast. But it has less about him and the girl and more about his life before, his changing, and his lion life before meeting the girl. He has to learn how to hunt to keep himself alive, but its hard for him because in his religon he can't eat raw meat. Slowly he learns how to servive in the wild. The beast travels all over the place trying to find were he belongs.

This is the tale of The Beast -- that is, what happened to him before he met Beauty. The world is so vividly depicted I could amost see and taste the world Donna Jo Napoli describes. I wish there was such great Teen Fiction being published when I was a teenager!
