The Last Book In The Universe by Rodman Philbrick is about a boy named Spaz who meets an old man named Ryter. They are set out on a journey to find Spaz’s sister before she dies. When they eventually find her she dies within hours of their arrival. Luckily along the way Spaz and Ryter meet a girl that may be willing to help. A few minutes after they meet the girl they find out she is from Eden,a place where everything and everyone is perfect. Spaz and Ryter also find out that the girl has no name so they decide to call her Lanaya. Lanaya decides to bring Spaz’s sister to Eden to try and heal her. Here is a quote from the book that Ryter says.
“I better keep my mouth closed or I’ll be catching flies.”
He says that because he’s never seen such a beautiful place before. Will the doctors in Eden be able to heal Spaz’s sister or not? Read The Last Book In The Universe to find out.
This was a book that I really enjoyed reading because it was like no other book I have read before. I have read another science fiction book this year but, they were really different. That book was called Truesight. In my opinion The Last Book In Book In The Universe is a lot better that Truesight because Truesight is a little harder to understand in my mind. My recommended age level for this book is ten and up. Overall I enjoyed this book.
