Wrongly accused of having an affair with an underage girl former teacher and coach Jack St. Bride escapes to Salem Falls, a small town where nothing ever happens. Unbelivably a local high school girl soon brings a charge of rape against him and Jack finds himself again trying to prove his innocence. Crazy, of course that this could happen to the same man twice but Picoult makes you forget all that as usual. Lots of interesting characters and a not quite happy for everyone ending.
