I am reading this to my daughter each night before she goes to bed. Times were so different and to see how self-reliant people were over 100 years ago it is amazing. Such a stark contrast to see how people have "progressed" into a very different people that expect entitlements never even imagined in Laura's days.

This book is the best! I LOVE IT!
In this book Laura gets her first teaching job and she hates it. She also has to board with a really grouchy family. It all turns out good in the end!
