Adult Fiction KERR
Summary: As Dark Matter opens in 1696, young Christopher Ellis is sent to the Tower of London -- not as a prisoner, but as assistant to Sir Isaac Newton, renowned scientist and warden of the Royal Mint. Newton has been appointed by the King and Parliament to use his brilliant mind to uncover a ring of counterfeiters. Ellis lacks Sir Isaac's erudite mind, but he is quick with a pistol and proves an invaluable sidekick to the great scientist/sleuth. Ellis and Newton soon discover that the counterfeiting is only part of a more sinister plot that threatens widespread bloodshed, anarchy, and the collapse of the English economy. A string of mysterious murders, coded documents, and alchemical symbols leads Ellis and Newton from the madhouse at Bedlam to the squalid confines of Newgate prison and finally back to the Tower of London, where Newton's enemies lie in wait for him, and for Ellis.
