I have read the series: the Avon True Romance series and this was the last book I needed to read to complete it. Terrible waste of time. It was a typical drab romance novel of a weak girl falling for a guy she'd never expect; blah, blah, blah! Victorian England makes women dreadfully dull, except when it came to another book in the series: "Anna and the Duke" - read THAT book! The only good think of this book to earn two stars is the unexpected delicious kiss.

I have never been a fan of Meg Cabot’s books-I simply couldn’t stand the Princess Diaries-, but I read this only because it takes place in the Victorian era, of which I am quite fond. The idea was interesting, but, as usaul, the characters were dull and predictable. I would not recommend this book-to ridiculous.
