My copy of this book is water damaged, a little bit muddy, scribbled in (I note plants that do and don't work in my yard), and when we bought our house three years ago, this book was essential in identifying plants and bushes. I love Ms. Myers candid notes about plants that won't thrive (some of the vines), it's helped me make smarter choices for my garden. Though I still can't get astilbe to grow to save my life.
