The Black Echo is the first book in Michael Connelly’s "Harry Bosch" series. This book is a mystery/police procedural with great character development. There are several subplots going on too, which all tie together at the end. The basic plot involves LA Detective Harry Bosch investigating the death of an old friend of his. Harry served in Viet Nam with the guy as a "Tunnel Rat". In the book Harry has flashbacks to Viet Nam and is faced with uncovering a mystery that ties a present-day crime to the Viet Nam era. A terrific mystery and crime drama. Highly recommended!
